After Mark died, photography took on a whole new meaning for me. I discovered my own family photographs all over again, finding hidden treasures in each and every one that I had never even noticed before. This one from a weekend trip to Door County, is an image that I perhaps overlooked before but I see it now and it exemplifies Mark as a father. In it I see strength and protection, yet a kind of gentleness that he always displayed with our children. It also brings me this feeling of tranquility…the feeling that I imagine they always had when they were wrapped up in his arms. I love you Mark, and I pray that we will always feel your loving arms wrapped around us.
