Dear Mark,

Today you would have been 45. You should be here. And it’s still hard to believe that you’re not. As we do each year on your birthday, we traveled to the place that we used to call home; to the beach where you and I would dream of “someday.” We sent you the words that rest in our hearts today. We need you to know that we do our best each day to learn, not to live without you…but rather to live with the love you’ve left behind. Our love transcends this world, Mark. You are now our sun, moon, and stars and for the rest of our lives, we will search for moments full of you. I am forever grateful for the abundant gifts you have given me, above all, our three little birds, who remind me every day of you and the power of your everlasting love.
